WORLD'S BEST MEATLOAF RECIPE





This moist, tangy BBQ meatloaf is the best meatloaf recipe for any occasion.

INGREDIENTS:

1 pound fresh ground beef

2 slices fresh white bread, grated into coarse crumbs

1 large egg

1 medium chopped onion

1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper

4 or 5 fresh white mushrooms

1/2 cup tomato puree

1/2 cup BBQ sauce

1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt

2 tablespoons brown sugar

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit.

Using a blender or by hand, grate the bread into coarse crumbs.

Remove the stems from the mushrooms, and finely chop the stems.

In a large bowl, combine beef, egg, bread crumbs, onion, chopped mushroom stems and chopped green pepper.

In a smaller bowl, combine tomato puree, 1/4 cup of the BBQ sauce, salt, seasoned salt and Tabasco. Mix well, then pour onto the meat and mix it all together using your hands.

Place mixture into a glass or metal baking pan.

Mix the remaining 1/4 cup BBQ sauce with the brown sugar, and pour it over the meatloaf, spreading it with a fork if needed.

Slice the mushroom caps and arrange them on top of the meatloaf.

Bake for 45 minutes.

SERVING SUGGESTION: You can make delicious meat pies easily by placing 2 or 3 tablespoons of cooked meatloaf into a mini pie crust, or wrapping it up in philo dough. Brush the dough with butter and bake for another 10 minutes, or until dough is golden brown.
