This sweet Cake Recipe is super easy to make and tastes like a lot more calories than a single serving contains.  

This delicious dessert proudly weighs in at 209 calories per serving. 


Most of the recipes shown in these pages are low in sugar, low in fat, easily prepared, and wonderfully delicious. 

You can even enjoy recipes of unknown calorie content, as long as you enjoy a moderately sized portion. Just call it 350 calories, and add it to your daily calorie count. 

Another smart thing you can try is to substitute the given recipe ingredients with their lower calorie counterparts whenever possible. For instance, when no baking is needed, try substituting white sugar with Splenda.

CAKE RECIPE



SIMPLE WHITE CAKE


Ingredients  

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1-3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk 




Directions: 

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease and lightly flour a 9x9-inch square baking pan (or line a 12-piece muffin pan with paper liners). 
  3. Cream sugar and butter in a medium mixing bowl. 
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until smooth.
  5. Stir in the vanilla
  6. Combine flour with baking powder, then add it to the creamy mixture and blend well. 
  7. Pour in milk and stir until the batter is smooth. 
  8. Spoon batter into prepared bakeware, and bake for 30-40 minutes if a cake, or 20-25 minutes if making cupcakes.


Makes 12 servings at 209 calories per serving. 



If you like, you can add white frosting and shredded coconut to the top of your serving, as shown in the image above.

Your piece of cake will still be under 350 calories.
