When Is Family Day?
It depends on who you ask, and which part of the world they live in.
There does exist an International Day Of Families, which is meant to be celebrated globally on May 15th of every year.
But many nations, including the United States, have one or more specifically designated National days when people are encouraged to simply spend time with their families.

FAMILY DAYS
UNITED STATES
Since 2015, September 26th has been designated as National Family Day in the United States.
The holiday was originally scheduled for the fourth Monday in September, but the date was fixed to September 26th so people would be more likely to remember and acknowledge it.
On this day, Americans are simply encouraged to do sweet things for their family members.
Family-friendly gestures that don't cost a lot of money include sending a handwritten note, fixing a home-cooked meal, or even just watching a movie together.
Families with higher energy levels might try team sports. Families with a lot of kids might plan a scavenger hunt.
National Family Day is not to be confused (but often is) with American Family Day, an Arizona state holiday that falls on the first Sunday in August, and is celebrated for the same reasons.
To confuse matters even more, Family Day is also a state holiday in Nevada, which celebrates it on the day after Thanksgiving, known to the rest of us as Black Friday.

CANADA
The third Monday in February is known as Family Day in a number of Canadian provinces, although the day is not a nationally established holiday.
The first known observance of Family Day in Canada was in 1990 in the province of Alberta. However, since this holiday is relatively new, there are no traditional activities yet associated with it.

SOUTH AFRICA
The Monday immediately following Easter, which used to be called 'Easter Monday,' was renamed Family Day in 1995.
URUGUAY
In Uruguay, December 25th was renamed Family Day for the sake of secularism.
VANUATU
In the nation of Vanuatu, Family Day falls on December 26th, a day known to Brits as Boxing Day.
VIETNAM
Since 2001, Vietnam has informally celebrated Family Day on June 28th each year, although it is not an officially recognized national holiday.
