This chapter covers buying Market Stock, and also mentions other investment strategies.
Some people do well investing in the stock market, especially with mutual funds.
The best stock market advice I've personally ever heard is “Don’t Buy Penny Stocks!” These stocks are priced very low, so you can get many of them for pennies a share, but it is impossible to determine which stocks will rise and which ones will not.
That’s why long term stock investing makes more sense. In fact, long term stock investing is how Warren Buffet made most of his fortune.
However, beware of all the misleading information online about best investments, with direct reference to particular stocks. Let this be a Red Flag for you. There is no shortage of people with pockets full of ulterior motives.
Perhaps it will sway your investment decisions to know that America’s top one percent (about 3 million people) own nearly half of ALL stocks in ALL stock exchanges.
That 1% also “earns” about 24% of ALL income in the United States. Many investors agree that tangible assets (physical things that actually exist) are better investments than stocks.
For good advice regarding which stocks are the best investments to make, ask someone else.
Meanwhile, let’s begin with some helpful, homespun investment advice from the people who buy the most Market Stock - America’s notorious Top One Percent:
Buy land. They’ve stopped making it.
- Will Rogers
Be fearful when others are greedy. Be greedy when others are fearful.
- Warren Buffet
I am a better investor because I am a businessman, and a better businessman because I am an investor.
- Warren Buffet
If you are prepared to invest in something, then you had better be able to explain why, in language that any 5th grader can understand.
- Peter Lynch
Successful investing is anticipating the anticipation of others.
- John Maynard Keynes
Sometimes your best investments are the ones you don’t make.
- Donald Trump
An investment in knowledge pays the highest interest.
- Ben Franklin
Wealth is better than poverty, if only for financial reasons.
- Woody Allen
