New York City is among the most popular senior destinations, not only because of its many cultural attractions, but also because public transportation is so easily accessible.

Designated landmarks and points of interest on the Midtown map include the Theater District, the Garment District, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Madison Square Garden, the Empire State Building, the United Nations Building and Carnegie Hall.

The Uptown map shows local attractions like the Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral, the New York Academy of Medicine and Central Park. Also nearby are world famous museums like the Guggenheim, the Jewish Museum, the National Design Museum and quite a few others.

New York City consists of five boroughs: Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn and Staten Island. Together they form the largest population of any city in the United States.

More than eight million people live in the borough of Manhattan, and over 18 million live in the surrounding Metropolitan area.

Manhattan is literally open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, fifty two weeks of the year. This is the reason why New York is known as "the city that never sleeps."
